date unknown.  location unknown (probably Stockton, California)

A wonderful find courtesy of the Bay Area Electric Railway Association.  This picture appears to show motor 100 around the time of its initial delivery to the Tidewater.  It is unknown where this photo was taken, but it is possibly on the Central California Traction Company's line, perhaps near their Stockton carbarn and shops.  The CCT rebuilt the 100 from one of its own cars for the Tidewater.

Of special note is the placement of the Tidewater's "Sunburst" logo on the side of the 100's cab.  This is the only piece of TS rolling stock I have been able to discover which used this logo.   Other interesting details include the lack of a roadname, the placement of the unit number on the frame rail, what appear to be high mounted headlights on the cab front, the wide cab windows over the hoods, lack of outside handrails, no headlights on the hood ends and the large circular appliance in front of the unseen cab front.  This appliance is a Westinghouse 13A signal - similar to the ones used by Sacramento Norther predecessor Oakland, Antioch and Eastern. Motor 100 would rarely if ever look this clean again.

If anyone has any idea as to where this photo may have been taken, a date, or any other information, please e-mail me and share your ideas.  The BAERA archives would very much like to get more info on this photo.
