October 15, 1952.  Oakland, California.

The 670 gets some TLC while resting with stablemate 661, a steeplecab built by Baldwin-Westinghouse.  The facility at 40th and Shafter included an engine house, car house and a yard, all compacted into a tiny wedge of land.  This was SN's base of operations on the south end and the home port for the former TS 106 for most of her remaining years.  Note that 661 wears the later day orange stripes.  SN 670 would never receive this image and keep her TS basic black until the end.
